Environmental Studies

There are many environmental considerations while designing an airport such as wildlife and wetland conservation, as well as air and noise pollution being the major factors. The figure above shows the noise contours following the Community Noise Equivalent Level (CNEL). The FAA allows up to 65 decibles of noise pollution. This contour map was developed using Integrate Noise Modelding (INM) software. The yellow contour represents the 65 decible threshold on the map above. This shows that there are no residential areas that fall in this restricted zone.
