Apron Area

The apron area is essentially a parking area for aircrafts that while not in use. They consist of hangars (covered parking) and tie-downs (uncovered parking). The tie-downs are oriented in the east-west direction to keep them parallel to the dominant wind direction. This is important to reduce any winds that may overturn and damage the aircrafts.

The apron consists of:
    • 207 tie-downs
    • 104 hangars
    • 2 fueling stations

There are varying sizes of tie-downs and hangars that will accommodate various sized aircrafts as predicted in the forecast. For more information on the apron area, please see Chapter 5 of the Master Plan.
